id Software announces Doom 4, seeks help

Today id Software announced that the production on the fourth installment for the "Doom"-series (Doom 4) has begun and that the internal team working on it is currently still expanding. Todd Hollenshead, CEO at id Software, said in a press release that he only wants to pick the very best people for this demanding job:

DOOM is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth. [...] It's critical for id Software to have the best creative minds in-house to develop games that meet the standards synonymous with our titles.

According to the section "Job Listings" on www.idsoftware.com lead designers, level designers, art directors and many other jobs are still available. It can also be guessed by looking at the job descriptions that the game will obviously be programmed for the platforms PC, PS3 and XBox360. It will, however, probably take much more patience till we see the first screens of the actual game, with the hiring process just starting right now.

idSoftware is currently also working on Rage, Quake Live and Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2.
