While Xbox 360 is the core gamers' platform of choice in North America, it has not been very successful in PC centric Germany. Even Halo 3 and other top titles didn't boost the Christmas sales in a noticeable way. So their German division might profit exponentially from the Europe-wide price cut that Microsoft has just announced: The following prices apply from Friday, March 14:
- Xbox 360 Arcade: 199,99 € (299 US$), down from 279 €
- Xbox 360 20 GB + Wireless Controller: 269,99 € (405 US$), down from 349 €
- Xbix 360 Elite: 369,99 € (555 US$), down from 449 €
(actual US prices are $279.99, $349.99, $449.99)
(new UK prices are £159.99, £199.99 and £259.99)
For comparison, a Wii in Germany costs 249,99 € (167 US$), the 40GB-PS3 is going for 399,99 € (266 US$).
